The PureCloud Softphone allows users in networks restricted from using WebRTC to use a computer with a USB headset to make calls. The PureCloud Softphone runs only on Windows-based computers and is not the same thing as the Genesys Cloud WebRTC phone. (PureCloud Softphone does not support built-in call controls on headsets like the Genesys Cloud WebRTC phone.)

Set up a PureCloud Softphone

The telephony administrator can set up a PureCloud Softphone on users’ computers, or users can set up a PureCloud Softphone on their own computers.


Configure a PureCloud Softphone

For best results, the telephony administrator performs the PureCloud Softphone administration configuration for users before setting up the PureCloud Softphone on users’ computers.


Use the PureCloud Softphone

Make calls in Genesys Cloud from the Calls pane or use the PureCloud Softphone dial pad.
