Manage knowledge base V2 categories

Modify a category

  1. Click Admin
  2. Under Knowledge, click Categories & Labels.
  3. Click Menu > Knowledge > Categories and Labels.
  4. Open the knowledge base that contains the category to modify.
  5. Next to the category you want to modify, click Edit .
  6. Change the category name or select a parent category under which to nest the current category.
  7. Click Save changes.

Remove a category from an article

You can choose to select a new category to associate with an article, or you can choose not to a category associated with the article.

  1. Click Admin
  2. Under Knowledge, click Articles.
  3. Click Menu > Knowledge > Articles.
  4. Open the knowledge base that contains the article whose category to remove.
  5. Next to the knowledge article to modify, click Edit . The Edit Article page opens.
  6. Under Category, do one of the following steps:
    • To remove a category from the article, click the X next to the category to remove.
    • To associate a new category with the article, select a new category.
    • To ensure that no category is associated with the article, select No category selected.
  7. Click Save.

Delete a category

When you delete a category, any articles assigned to the category remain unassigned. You cannot undo this action.

  1. Click Admin
  2. Under Knowledge, click Categories & Labels.
  3. Click Menu > Knowledge > Categories and Labels.
  4. Open the knowledge base that contains the category to remove.
  5. Click Settings > Categories & Labels.
  6. Next to the category you want to remove, click Delete .
  7. Click Delete category.
