Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) Rate E for Audio Connectors and Rate A for third-party TTS changes

Agentic AI continues to evolve, delivering greater intelligence, efficiency, and measurable results than traditional bots. To reflect these enhanced capabilities and ongoing innovation, on the effective date, Genesys Cloud will update the pricing for these Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) rates:

  • BYOT-E for Audio Connectors
  • BYOT-A for third-party Text-to-Speech (TTS) voices

In early 2026, Genesys plans to transition Enhanced TTS Standard and Neural voices powered by Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services Text To Speech and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to the BYOT-A model. This alignment ensures a consistent and flexible experience across all third-party TTS services. 

What’s changing   

On January 1, 2026, Genesys will adjust the pricing to BYOT-E and BYOT-A and update the BYOT pricing page accordingly. The impact for existing customers using BOYT-E and BYOT-A depends on the current usage and commitment volumes. 

  • BYOT-E (Rate E) for third-party Audio Connectors: Increases to $0.10 per minute.   
  • BYOT-A (Rate A) for third-party Text-to-Speech (TTS) voices: Increases to $4 per million characters.   

In early 2026, Enhanced TTS service through Microsoft Azure or Google Voices is planned for transition to reflect BYOT-A pricing. 

How to prepare

The timing and actions of completion for customers using BYOT-A and BYOT-E services depends on current usage and commitment volumes.

Customer Preparation

BYOT-E (Audio Connector) users 

No configuration or product changes are required. On the effective date, Genesys will apply the new BYOT-E rate. Alternatively, customers can migrate voice bots to Genesys native virtual agent or telephony services. 

BYOT-A (Third-party TTS) users 

No configuration or product changes are required. On the effective date, Genesys will apply the new BYOT-A rate. Alternatively, languages can migrate to Enhanced TTS Neural Voices powered by Amazon Polly.

Enhanced TTS standard and neural voices through Microsoft Azure and Google Voices users 

On a later date, Genesys plans to transition Enhanced TTS Standard and Neural voices powered by Microsoft Azure and Google Voices. Genesys will announce additional information and guidance soon. Genesys recommends that customers perform one or both of the following actions to ensure service continuity: 

  • Migrate affected TTS languages to Enhanced TTS Neural Voices powered by Amazon Polly.
  • Maintain service through Microsoft Azure or Google Voices by contracting directly with your provider and migrate to BYOT TTS via AppFoundry integrations before the transition occurs.
