Drop a shift to the system
- For agents to participate in shift trades: Workforce Management > Agent Shift Trade Request > Participate permission
- For agents to submit alternative shift trades: Workforce Management > Agent Alternative Shift > Submit permission
If you want to remove a shift from your schedule, you can drop the shift to the system. Dropping a shift to the system is considered an alternative shift trade. To drop a shift back to the system, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to the Shift Trades panel. For more information, see Navigate the Shift Trades panel.
- Next to New Trade, click .
- Click Drop.
- Choose the shift that you want to drop. Click Request Drop. Note: If the shift is deemed as suitable to drop to the system, two separate trade requests appear:
- One shift trade drop request, shown as You → Anyone.
- One alternative shift trade drop request, shown as You → System.
To see if the alternative shift trade is approved or denied, check your inbox notifications. If your alternative shift trade is denied, your supervisor can still intervene and approve it. After your alternative shift trade is approved, your schedule updates accordingly. If another agent picks up your shift before the alternative shift trade is approved and the schedule updates, the alternative shift trade becomes invalid.
