Add supported language and language configuration to individual flows. Specify the default language in which Architect plays prompts or displays prompt text in this flow back to the user. Specify the TTS engine and voice for each language.

Note: The organization's default text-to-speech (TTS) engine is Genesys TTS. To access additional third-party TTS engines in Architect, first obtain them from the Genesys AppFoundry. Then, configure them in Genesys Cloud. For more information, see About text-to-speech (TTS) engines.

  1. From the Architect home page, click or hover over the Flows menu and select the preferred flow type.
  2. Click the flow that you want to open. The flow’s configuration page opens.
  3. Under Settings, select Supported Languages.
  4. In the Supported Languages area, click the Add Language list to view a list of available supported languages.
  5. Select the preferred language.
    1. (Optional) Under Text To Speech area, set up the default speech engine for each language and the voice that reads back the text to speech.
    2. (Optional) To change the default language, select the Default Language button next to the primary language for the call flow.
    3. (Optional) For each supported language, select the appropriate Language Skill list and choose the language skill to associate with the supported language.

You set your default language when you create a bot flow, and you cannot change it. You can also configure a knowledge base for the languages that you add here. However, knowledge bases may not be available in all languages.

Note: To use the multi-language support feature, you must use the native NLU engine. For more information, see Genesys natural language understanding (NLU) engine FAQs.

Intent and slot type behavior for supported languages

You can only add, edit, and delete intents and slot types with the default language. Train each intent with a different set of training utterances per language. To add a new intent, use the default language and then enter training phrases for each intent. When you add a new slot type with the default language, use the Localized Value box to add a new set of synonyms for each supported language. For more information, see Add slot types and utterances to intents for supported languages in a flow.
