Required regulatory documentation for SMS number purchase

The regulations in the following countries require additional information to purchase SMS numbers. Some of these regulations require that you provide copies of official documentation as proof of your business or business address. Some of the regulations don’t require official documentation, but you must supply the information along with your request to purchase SMS numbers. Select your country and examine the information requirements before you attempt to purchase an SMS number.

Note: On any documents containing an issue date, the date must be within the previous 60 days. On any documents containing a business address, the address must be a street address. A PO Box address is not be acceptable.

Canada

When you purchase a toll-free number in Canada for SMS, you will need to run through a verification process before you can send SMS messages. For more information, see Genesys Cloud support of toll-free messaging verification for the United States and Canada.

Chile

United States

When you purchase a 10DLC number for use in the United States for SMS, your numbers require additional verification before you can use it to send messages. For more information and a link to the registration form, see Genesys Cloud support of 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code).

**In Singapore, businesses that want to send text messages to consumers must register with the Longcode Registry (SSIR), managed by the Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC), before they are allowed to do so.
