Language support in the client

Note: This article applies to Genesys Cloud Embeddable Framework, Genesys Cloud for Chrome, Genesys Cloud for Firefox, Genesys Cloud for Microsoft Teams, Genesys Cloud for Salesforce, and Genesys Cloud for Zendesk.

The following content applies to Genesys Cloud for Chrome and Genesys Cloud for Firefox.

The extension bases the language preference on the logged-in user’s language setting, which is set at the bottom of the login window for the client. If the content is not available in the selected language, the extension falls back to United States English (en-US). 

The extension bases the date and time format on the settings in the computer’s operating system.

The following content applies to Genesys Cloud Embeddable Framework.

The integration bases the language preference on the logged-in user’s language setting, which is set programmatically. For more information, see getUserLanguage in the Genesys Cloud Developer Center.

The following content applies to Genesys Cloud for Salesforce.

The integration bases the language preference on the logged-in agent’s language setting, which is set in Salesforce under My Settings > Personal > Language & Time Zone. After an agent changes the language setting, they must log out of the integration for the changes to take effect.

If a regional preference; for example, French Canada (fr-CA) is not available, the integration falls back to the generic language of French (fr). If the generic language is not available, it falls back to English United States (en-US).

The following content applies to Genesys Cloud for Zendesk.

The integration bases the language preference on the logged-in agent’s language setting, which is set in Zendesk. For more information, see How can I change the language in Support for my agents? in the Zendesk documentation.

If the generic language is not available, it falls back to English United States (en-US).

The integration bases the date and time format on the settings in the computer’s operating system.
