In a future release, Genesys Cloud will give users the option to register built-in authentication, such as fingerprint readers and physical security tokens as devices in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). With this update, users have more flexibility to choose how they authenticate and can select from options that align better with their specific needs or corporate security policies. This change aims to improve MFA adoption by eliminating barriers associated with the use of authenticator apps and by supporting a wider range of authentication methods.
This update applies to native Genesys Cloud logins only, with no impact on users who authenticate via Single Sign-On (SSO). For more information and screenshots of the new UI, see the UI change: Additional Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) device options community post.
