Genesys Cloud support for Singapore SMS long codes

In Singapore, businesses must register with the Longcode Registry (SSIR), managed by the Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC), before they can send text messages to their customers.

To register with the SSIR, businesses must meet the following conditions:

  • The Longcode must be an 8-digit number starting with eight or nine.
  • Customers must provide proof to their SMS aggregator showing that the Longcode was issued by the Singapore Mobile Network Operator.

How do I Register?

  1. The business must create an SSIR account by:
    1. Visiting the SSIR portal.
    2. Submitting all required business and contact information.
      Note: The account is an annual membership held by the business that intends to operate a text messaging program in Singapore.
  2. Once your account is approved, login to the SSIR portal to register your Longcode(s). Genesys will order the Longcode(s) on your behalf and provide it to you along with:
    • An authorization letter to SGNIC confirming that Genesys aggregator is your SMS aggregator. This will need to be added to your SSIR registration.
  3. SGNIC will verify the application within a few working days. Once approved, your Longcode will be allowed and protected under the SSIR.
  4. After your Longcode is approved, please email the following to genesyscloudsms@genesys.com:
    • A screenshot of your SSIR profile showing the approved Longcode(s)
    • A copy of your ACRA
  5. Genesys will forward this information to our aggregator for processing. Upon receipt, the Genesys aggregator will provide the following document that must be completed and returned:
    • A signed Letter of Authorization (LOA)
  6. The Genesys aggregator will submit the LOA to the SGNIC for approval. Once approved, the Genesys aggregator will provision the SMS Longcode(s) and notify Genesys we are permitted to enable the Longcode(s) within your Genesys Cloud organization.
  7. The Genesys SMS team will activate the long code and send a confirmation email once the number is ready for use.
