Deprecation: Internet Explorer 11 support for PureCloud web app
|Announced on||Support ends|
|May 29, 2019||December 4, 2019|
On December 4, 2019, Genesys will no longer support using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) as a web browser for users to access the PureCloud web app. After the deprecation, PureCloud may not function properly, or at all, when users attempt to access PureCloud with IE 11. You can access and use PureCloud with IE 11 until the support end date.
What does this mean?
Between the announcement date and end of support, you can access and use the PureCloud web app with IE 11. However, Genesys will no longer address bugs or minor issues specific to IE 11. We will continue to resolve any major breakage with IE 11 until the support end date.
Am I affected?
This end of support affects you if you use IE 11 to access the PureCloud web app. This deprecation does not affect IE 11 support for the following:
- Web chat widgets
- Co-browse sharers
- Applications using the PureCloud API
- PureCloud embedded clients such as PureCloud with Salesforce
- third-party integrations created using the PureCloud Embeddable Framework
- Authenticating with PureCloud using IE 11
How can I prepare for this deprecation?
If you currently use IE 11 to access the PureCloud app, transition to another web browser, such as the latest version of Chrome or Firefox. If you decide to use the Microsoft Edge browser, you may be able to enable compatibility mode for other sites that continue to require IE 11. For a full list of supported web browsers, see PureCloud system requirements.
