In a future release, Genesys Cloud will add the Alert Volume While on Call setting to the main web application. This feature allows users to adjust the volume of ringing alerts for incoming interactions while they handle a call or callback. The ability to adjust the alert provides more direct control over how loud alerting interactions sound during active conversations, helping users reduce distractions and maintain focus. Previously, this setting was only available in specific integrations such as Genesys Cloud for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Zendesk, and the Embeddable Framework. With this update, users who access Genesys Cloud directly through the main web app will now have the same control, ensuring a consistent experience across platforms.
The setting will appear in the Sound section of User Preferences alongside other volume controls such as Phone Ringer Volume and Chat Notification Volume and functions independently, so adjusting this slider won’t impact other sound settings. This update supports a quieter, more productive work environment for Genesys Cloud users.
