Genesys Cloud uses cookies for the normal functioning of the service. The following tables list the required Genesys Cloud cookies by functional area. 

Architect UI cookies

Cookie Name Duration Purpose 
pcAuth-userPrefLangTag 90 days Contains the user’s preferred language and overrides the default language. The host operating system or browser dictates the default language.
pureCloudTheme 10 years Contains the theme to override the default theme. Genesys Cloud controls this theme and users cannot select a different theme.
architect-hash-<guid> 1 day Contains the user’s preferred URL when initially loading the app. If the user is redirected to the login page, Architect can load the preferred URL.

Auth Server cookies

Cookie Name Duration Purpose 
ININ-Auth-Session 9 days (last used IDP)
30 minutes (auth session)		 Contains and tracks the user’s current authenticated session and last used Identity Provider (IDP), if applicable. The authentication session itself lasts for 30 minutes and allows continued access token grants. After 30 minutes, a new authentication session is required. Cleared on explicit logout.
tsid 2000 hours Contains and tracks all tokens created during the lifetime of the cookie. An explicit logout deletes all tokens associated with the cookie.
RMSID 90 days Contains the user’s authentication status and allows continued access across Auth Sessions. Not used in HIPAA orgs or in External IDP authentication mechanisms. Resets on successful authentications so a user can maintain a perpetual login if regularly logging in. Cleared on logout.

Auth UI cookies

Cookie Name Duration Purpose 
pcAuth-prevOrgName 90 days Contains the last used org shortname for quick return to the org-specific page on future login views. This cookie is set or reset on explicit navigation to an org-specific login page or on successful authentication. This cookie is cleared if an unknown org shortname navigation is attempted (via URL or invalid data entry).
pcAuth-userPrefLangTag 90 days

Contains the user’s preferred language in BCP 47 format from the Genesys Cloud supported list of languages. This cookie is written upon UI load and changed to the selected language. Other applications in the Genesys Cloud suite can also update this cookie as this cookie is a top-level Genesys Cloud environment variable.

This cookie is used to dictate the displayed localization (l10n) across all apps in Genesys Cloud.
pcAuth-userPrefLocale 90 days This name is the previous cookie name for pcAuth-userPrefLangTag. The cookie attributes are the same except the cookie value is stored in a proprietary format instead of the standard BCP 47 format.
pureCloudTheme  10 years Contains the theme to override the default theme. Genesys Cloud controls this theme and users cannot select a different theme. 

Co-browse cookies

Genesys Widgets cookies

Web Directory cookies

pcAuth-userPrefLangTag  90 days Contains the user’s preferred language (in BCP 47 format) for use across the Genesys Cloud platform. The cookie is updated when a user changes their preferred language.
PureCloud-Apps-SessionCookie 1 day Contains an auth cookie used to authorize download GET actions (for example, chat preview). This cookie is set on the server-side.
pureCloudTheme 10 years  Contains the theme to use and override the default appearance. Genesys Cloud controls this theme and users cannot select a different theme. 
lastLogoutTimestamp 5 seconds Contains the last logout time to prevent mobile offers or application bootstrapping during the OAuth logout flow.
