Purge historical data

Prerequisites 
  • Workforce Management > Historical Data > Upload permission

In the Import History section, to purge select uploaded historical data, click the check box that corresponds to the uploaded file to purge. You can select and purge single or multiple files.

Purge status

Status Description
Error Files can be deleted from the system directly. This process can take up to five minutes. 
Failed Files can be deleted from the system directly. This process can take up to five minutes. 
Import Canceled Files can be deleted from the system directly. This process can take up to five minutes. 
Import Pending Files can be deleted from the system directly. This process can take up to five minutes. 
Import Successful Files with import successful statuses are purged within 24 hours.
Published Files with this status are deleted only after the batch job has finished processing. This process can take up to 24 hours. Meanwhile, the status of the file changes to Purge Pending. 
Purge Pending

Historical data purge request initiated successfully and waits for a batch process to purge the data from Genesys Cloud. The purge process completes within 24 hours at approximately 3:00 a.m. local time in each region.

Note: This entry only appears if the user tries to purge a file with Published status.
Purge Successful A data purge process completed successfully. This entry only appears for rows with Purge Pending status after the purge request is processed by the batch job.
Note: Files in Purge Successful status can be deleted from the system directly. This process can take up to 5 minutes.

To purge historical data, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under Workforce Management, click Historical Data Import.
  3. Click Purge.
  4. Click Yes.
  5. In the Import History section, select the files that you want to purge.
  6. Click Purge Selected. The Purge Files dialog box appears with a list of files to purge.
  7. Click Purge.
    Note: In the upper right corner of the screen, the system displays status messages of the purge status of the files. The purge status appears either in the next few minutes or 24 hours, depending on the number of selected files. After the system accepts the purge, the system displays a notification, confirming that the purge is complete. When the file is purged from the system, the system displays a notification to the user confirming the successful purge.
     

After you purge the data, forecasts use native Genesys Cloud historical data to generate new forecasts.

Files that cannot be purged

Error File status Description Solution 
Validationinprogress Initiated/In progress Because validation is ongoing, the system does not delete files in these statuses.

Wait for the validation to finish.

Pending/Published If validation for any other files in this status is ongoing, the system does not delete files in these statuses.

Wait for the validation to finish.

Deleteinprogress Purge Pending Because the system is waiting for the batch job to run, the system does not delete files in these statuses.

Wait for batch job to run.

RequestIdNotFound

Files with missing requestIds (unique IDs for each file) are deleted. This error occurs when two users in the same organization try to purge the files at the same time. In this case, the first user’s purge is successful and the second user’s purge is not and the message appears.

Refresh the browser for the latest list.

InvalidRequest

Files with invalid requestIds are not deleted.

 

Refresh the browser and to see the latest list. If there is an API user, then they can perform a  GET/api/v2/workforce management/historicaldata/ importstatus request to get the latest list.
