FAQ: Does port 19302 for Google’s STUN need to be open?

Yes and No.

  • Yes, port 19302 needs to be open for Edges using WebRTC. Edges use port 19302 to access Google’s STUN servers to get external IP addresses
  • No, port 19302 does not need to be open for WebRTC clients. WebRTC clients will use Genesys Cloud STUN and TURN services in AWS via port 3478 to get external IP addresses. However, if port 19302 is open, WebRTC clients will use port 19302 to access Google’s STUN servers to get external IP addresses
Note: Google’s STUN servers are at the stun.l.google.com domain.
