Set up DID and toll-free numbers


Prerequisites

  • Telephony > Plug-in All permissions

Define a DID number, toll-free number, or a range of numbers before you assign it to an IVR or stand-alone phone.

Add a single number or a range of numbers associated with the organization’s service provider. The number must be a valid number with a valid country code and area code. You cannot add an already assigned number or a number that overlaps an existing number range.

Column Description
DID Start The single number, or the first sequential number in a range of telephone numbers.
DID End The last sequential number in a range of telephone numbers. This field is blank if only one number appears in the DID Start box.
Service Provider The name of the carrier or service provider associated with the number or range of numbers.
Comments Optional notes about the number or range of numbers.


  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under Telephony, click DID Numbers.
  3. Click the DID Numbers tab.
  4. Below the DID Start column, click in the DID Start box and type the number in the appropriate format that you want to assign to the organization.
  5. Below the DID End column, leave the DID End box unchanged.
  6. Below the Service Provider column, click the blank text box and type the name of carrier associated with the number.
  7. Below the Comments column, optionally click to add any notes about the number.
  8. Click .

The number is now available to assign to users and call or message routes.


  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under Telephony, click DID Numbers.
  3. Click the DID Numbers tab.
  4. Below the DID Start column, click the DID Start box and type the first sequential number for the range, in the format that you want to assign to the organization.
  5. Below the DID End column, in the DID End box enter the last sequential number for the range, in the format that you want to assign to the organization.
  6. Below the Service Provider column, click the blank text box and type the name of the carrier associated with these numbers.
  7. Below the Comments column, optionally click to add any notes about the numbers.
  8. Click .

The range of numbers are now available to assign to users and call or message routes.


Note: If the number that you want to remove exists within a range, delete the entire range of numbers. You cannot delete a single number from a range unless you initially entered it as a single number.

  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under Telephony, click DID Numbers.
  3. Click the DID Numbers tab.
  4. Find the number that you want to remove and click  at the end of the entry.
