Deprecation: TURN port range
|Announced on||Removal begins|
|February 27, 2019||May 31, 2019|
Effective May 31, 2019, the port range required for TURN server communication will move exclusively to 16384–32768. This range is a subset of the currently active ports (16384–32768 and 49152–65535). The 32769-65535 port range will be deprecated.
What does this mean?
As of May 31, 2019, PureCloud’s TURN servers will stop allowing connections outside the 16384–32768 port range. Customers who have this range blocked will no longer be able to place or receive calls using WebRTC stations.
Am I affected?
If anyone in your organization uses the PureCloud WebRTC web-based phone for Agent or Business User telephony, you may be affected by this deprecation. For more information, see How can I quickly determine if I am effected by the TURN server port range deprecation?.
What do I need to do before the Removal Date?
Customer firewalls placed between WebRTC clients and PureCloud must be configured to allow for connectivity in the 16384–32768 port range. The upper range (49152–65535) will no longer need to be opened.
