The Admin > Directory external contacts feature is being removed from Genesys Cloud on July 12, 2017. We will discontinue development and support of this feature on April 12, 2017. You will still be able to use the feature until the end of life date on July 12.
Genesys Cloud previously supported two features called External Contacts:
- The deprecated External Contacts feature was accessed from the Admin > Directory menu. It provided limited functionality to create contact records.
- The new External Contacts feature appears under Directory on the main menu.

What does this mean?
Between the announcement date and the removal of the feature, Genesys will no longer address bugs or minor issues specific to this feature. We will continue to resolve any major breakage until the end of life date.
Am I affected?
If your organization uses the existing external contacts feature which is accessed through the Admin menu, then you are affected.
What do I need to do before the Removal Date?
You will need to manually migrate existing external contacts to the new external contacts feature.
