BYOC Premises Edge trust and pairing process
When Genesys ships a BYOC Premises Edge device, it contains no customer information. Genesys Cloud and an Edge do not trust each other until they establish that trust through the secure pairing process described in this section.
After you install an Edge and connect it to your network, it automatically attempts to acquire an IP address through Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP). Alternatively, you can assign a static IP address through the LCD panel. At this stage of the process, an Edge trusts only the server certificate provided by the Genesys Cloud Pairing Manager service.
Note: The certificates expire 5 years from creation, but Genesys automatically replaces them when they get close to expiration.
