Create a trade with alternative shift
- For agents to participate in shift trades: Workforce Management > Agent Shift Trade Request > Participate permission
- For agents to submit alternative shift trades: Workforce Management > Agent Alternative Shift > Submit permission
When you post a shift for trading, you may be offered alternative shifts that satisfy the day and time constraints in which you designate as willing to accept a trade. For more information about how to request a shift trade, see Request to trade a shift with anyone.
To create a trade with an alternative shift, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to the Shift Trades panel. For more information, see Navigate the Shift Trades panel.
- Click New Trade.
- Choose the shift that you want to trade.
- Under Trade With, select Anyone. This option is the default.
- Under Willing to Accept, select the days that you want to work instead.
- (Optional) Limit the time range in which you are willing to accept a shift.
- Check the Limit time range box.
- To adjust the start and end times for an acceptable trade, use the up and down arrows under Shift Start and Shift End.
- Set the expiration date and time of this shift trade. Note: After the trade expires, it cannot be modified, approved, or denied.
- If available matches or alternative shifts exist, the View Matches button appears in the lower right corner. Click the View Matches button.
- To choose an alternative shift, perform the following steps: Note: If known alternative shifts are available, they appear under Select A Matching Shift and show as offered by the System. If you do not like the listed shifts, click the Load additional matches button to search for more alternative shifts.
- Select an alternative shift and click Select.
- Review the trade and click Finalize Trade.
- To see whether the trade is approved or denied, check for an inbox notification. If your trade is denied, your supervisor can still intervene and approve it. Once your trade is approved, your schedule is updated accordingly.
