About BYOC Premises – Customer VM Solution

With BYOC Premises – Customer VM Solution, you configure a Windows server in your data center with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and Hyper-V to create a virtual host for a VM (Virtual Machine). You then download and install the Customer VM Solution image and create a VM Edge.

Hardware and software requirements

In order to run a VM Edge, your host server must meet specific hardware and software requirements. Also keep in mind that a VM Edge is highly susceptible to malfunction due to configuration irregularities. So it is important that you pay strict attention to any warnings that appear to make sure your VM Edge is operating within established parameters.

Customer VM Solution image and installation script

Download the Customer VM Solution image and the installation script. Both the image and  installation script downloads come as ZIP files. You’ll need to unzip both files before you can proceed with the installation.

Set up a VM Edge

After you have downloaded and unzipped the Customer VM Solution image and the installation script, you are ready to set up a VM Edge.

Usage charge

When you put a BYOC Premises Edge in service, you will begin incurring the monthly hardware usage charge that is specified in your Genesys Cloud contract.
