Deprecation: Billing and usage APIs and User Interface

Description

Genesys Cloud is transforming our systems and processes to enhance customer and partner relationships. This will be accomplished by reducing the end-to-end sales cycle, expanding self-service for onboarded clients, and accelerating access to new products. As a part of this process, Genesys is planning on removing support for the following Billing APIs and UI components:

• Billing & Usage UI: (Admin > Account Settings > Subscription)
• Partner Billing Usage API: /api/v2/billing/trusteebillingoverview/{trustorOrgId}
• Premium Applications – Usage API – Individual Customer Subscription GET endpoint: billable-vendor-usage-api.usw2.pure.cloud/v1/regions/{region}/organizations/{orgId}?appIds={appIds}

What does this mean?

Genesys Cloud is modernizing its billing infrastructure, services, and user interfaces. These updates will occur in the background and will not impact customers or partners except for the noted APIs. If you are using the specific APIs or UI components listed, Genesys will provide guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition. Otherwise, no action is required on your part.

Details about the Partner Billing API

The Partner Billing Usage API is intended for Genesys Partner companies to create systems for customer billing of Genesys Cloud users, devices and resources, and AppFoundry applications. The replacement of the Billing System requires us to replace the API. The new API Explorer has a much richer data set for consumers to see their contracts, subscriptions, rate plans, invoices, quantity commits, balances, drawdown units and overages by billing period all in the same API.

Am I affected?

You are impacted if any of the following use cases apply to you:

• You are a Genesys Cloud partner using the Partner Billing Usage API to monitor customer usage and generate invoices based on the API data.
• You are a Premium Applications Vendor using the Premium Applications – Usage API – Individual Customer Subscription GET endpoint to access usage data for specific organizations subscribed to your application.
• You are an administrator within an organization who uses the Billing & Usage UI to review organization usage, invoices, or download usage reports.

When will this change happen?

Genesys is currently working on this project and will announce exact dates and more detailed information in the future.

What do I need to do to prepare for this deprecation?

• Ensure that your development and operational teams are prepared to adapt to the new billing infrastructure. The End Points, Example Outputs and Schema for the Partner Billing API replacement are now available for you to review and plan for development work. You will be able to connect to a Development version on May 1, 2025.
• Stay informed by monitoring the Removal and Replacement of Partner Billing Usage API discussion in the Genesys Cloud – Developer Community.
• Customers and Partners consuming the Partner Billing Usage API will need to cut-over to the API. Timelines will be communicated along the way to keep all partners informed of the change. The API Explorer is now available to begin your development work. Please note, only mock data will be available at this time. Genesys plans to deprecate the Partner Billing Usage API at a later date after satisfactory testing and deployment of the new billing system. We will stay in touch with you throughout the next few months, explaining new milestones and calls to action as necessary for you to complete your testing.
