To add Edge to your local network:

The WAN network interface on the back panel is the connection through which Edge Standard communicates with the Genesys Cloud service. To add Edge to your local network, you must assign an IP address to its network interface.

Note: Genesys Cloud hardware Edges do not support SNMP.

Two types of IP addresses can be assigned. If your local network offers a Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server, you can assign a dynamic IP address. Otherwise you can assign a static IP address.

To complete this step, perform either of the following procedures:

You can use the LCD in the Edge Standard v1 to set DHCP for the WAN port.

Notes: 
  • Check that an Ethernet cable connects your network to the Edge port labeled Port 1 (WAN).
  • The Edge is not paired with Genesys Cloud at the beginning of this procedure.

  1. Press the lower right button at Genesys Cloud Edge.
  2. Press the lower right button at Status.
  3. Press the upper left button at Settings.
  4. Press the lower right button at System.
  5. Press the upper left button at Network.
  6. Press the lower right button at Proxy.
  7. Press the upper left button at Port 1 (WAN).
  8. Press the upper left button at Set DHCPV4.
  9. Press the upper left button at Apply Changes?.

You can use the LCD in the Edge Standard v1 to set the static IP address for the WAN port.

  1. Press the lower right button at Genesys Cloud Edge.
  2. Press the lower right button at Status.
  3. Press the upper left button at Settings.
  4. Press the lower right button at System.
  5. Press the upper left button at Network.
  6. Press the lower right button at Proxy.
  7. Press the upper left button at Port 1 (WAN).
  8. Press the lower right button at Set DHCPV4.
  9. Press the upper left button at Set Static IPV4.
  10. Press the upper left button at IPV4 Address.
  11. Set the address for Port 1 (WAN) at the IP Address 000.000.000.000:
    • Move the cursor left and right using the upper left and upper right buttons.
    • Increase and decrease the highlighted number using the lower left and lower right buttons.
    1. After you set the IP address, press the upper right button at to move the cursor past the rightmost digit.
      Note: If you move the cursor past the rightmost digit before you finish setting the IP, cancel and re-enter the IP address.
    2. Press the upper left button when the IP address is complete.
    3. Press the lower right button at IPV4 Address.
    4. Press the upper left button at IPV4 Subnet Mask.
    1. Set the IPV4 Subnet Mask address at the IPV4 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0:
      • Move the cursor left and right using the upper left and upper right buttons.
      • Increase and decrease the highlighted number using the lower left and lower right buttons.
    1. After you set the subnet mask, press the upper right button at to move the cursor past the rightmost digit.

    1. Press the lower right button at IPV4 Subnet Mask.

    1. Press the upper left button at IPV4 Gateway.
    1. Set the IPV4 Gateway address for Port 1 (WAN):
      • Move the cursor left and right using the upper left and upper right buttons.
      • Increase and decrease the highlighted number using the lower left and lower right buttons.
    1. After you set the address, press the upper right button to move the cursor past the rightmost digit.

    Note: If you move the cursor past the rightmost digit before you finish setting the address, cancel and re-enter the address.

    1. Press the upper left button when the address is complete.
    1. Press the lower right button at IPV4 Gateway.
    1. Press the upper left button at IPV4 DNS 1.
    1. Set the address for Port 1 (WAN) at IPV4 DNS 1 000.000.000.000:
      • Move the cursor left and right using the upper left and upper right buttons.
      • Increase and decrease the highlighted number using the lower left and lower right buttons.
    1. After you set the address, press the upper right button at to move the cursor past the rightmost digit.

    Note: If you move the cursor past the rightmost digit before you finish setting the address, cancel and re-enter the address.

    1. Press the upper left button when the address is complete.
    1. Press the lower right button at IPV4 DNS 1.
    1. Press the upper left button at IPV4 DNS 2.
    1. Set the address for Port 1 (WAN) at IPV4 DNS 2 000.000.000.000:
      • Move the cursor left and right using the upper left and upper right buttons.
      • Increase and decrease the highlighted number using the lower left and lower right buttons.
    1. After you set the address, press the upper right button at to move the cursor past the rightmost digit.

    Note: If you move the cursor past the rightmost digit before you finish setting the address, cancel and re-enter the address.

    1. Press the upper left button after you complete the address.
    2. Press the lower right button at IPV4 DNS 2.
    3. Press the upper left button at IPV4 DNS 2.
    4. Press the upper left button at Apply Changes?
