In a future release, Genesys Cloud will streamline the event menu to align with Genesys Cloud naming conventions and the logical sequence of events. This improvement reduces the number of event options from 60 to 16 primary types, making it easier and faster for users to build journeys while maintaining flexibility for customization. Also, this improvement ensures clear differentiation between Genesys Cloud and future third-party events while maintaining the existing position and size of icons on event lists. Previously, users had to navigate an overwhelming list of event types, some of which included irrelevant options or lacked a clear sequence. With this update, event lists will:

  • Use concise, user-friendly naming that matches Genesys Cloud product language.
  • Display only events with available data.
  • Follow a logical order to improve usability and comprehension.
  • Standardize iconography on event lists by replacing the previous five background colors and icons with a single, consistent color and logo for Genesys Cloud events.
This change ensures that events remain scalable for new Genesys Cloud or third-party types, flexible for schema updates, and mutually exclusive to avoid redundancy. By simplifying the event menu, users can focus on building customized journeys more efficiently without unnecessary constraints.
