In a future release, Genesys Cloud will allow administrators to assign a non-default content profile to an SMS channel, enabling additional file types to be shared in inbound and outbound SMS conversations. Previously, the SMS channel used the organization’s default content profile, limiting file type support. With this update, administrators gain more control over the types of files that can be sent and received. End-users and agents can continue attaching files to MMS as they do today, but with expanded support beyond .jpg, .png, and .gif.
Several UI improvements will make managing SMS and MMS settings more intuitive:
- Filter and selection enhancements: A new icon for the Filter option, updated multi-selection drop-downs, and a new Country drop-down.
- Better visibility of selected items: A new banner displays the number of selected items, along with options to remove them or assign a content profile.
- Content profile management improvements: A new MMS Content Profile column shows assigned profiles, and a new Assign Content Profile option in the kebab menu makes it easier to update settings.
- More intuitive number management: The Remove Numbers button has been moved to a dedicated multi-selection tool for better accessibility.
