Install the PureCloud browser extensions


Note: This article applies to PureCloud for Chrome and PureCloud for Firefox.

The PureCloud browser extensions support the standard deployment methods outlined by Google and Mozilla and allow for individual or administrator installation.

Prerequisites
  • PureCloud for Chrome requires the latest version of Chrome.

Individuals can install the PureCloud for Chrome extension on their computers (individual installation), or administrators can use Chrome for Work to install the extension on all individual computers remotely (administrator installation).

Individual installation

  1. Go to PureCloud for Chrome in the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Follow the instructions about installing the extension.

PureCloud for Chrome now appears in your browser toolbar.

The extension updates automatically. No manual intervention is necessary.

Individual users can configure PureCloud for Chrome under the Chrome extension on the Chrome extensions page. For more information, see Turn off click-to-dialEnable server-side logging, and Configure caller ID.

Administrator installation

You can install the extension on all individual computers from a Chrome for Work account. Use either user-based policies or device-based policies. User-based policies require users to sign in to Chrome with their Google Apps account. 

Prerequisites
  • Sign up for a Chrome for Work account and create a list of users in that account. The list of users contains all users that you want to have PureCloud for Chrome installed on their computers.

The extension updates automatically. No manual intervention is necessary.

Individuals cannot delete, disable, or configure PureCloud for Chrome in the Chrome extension on their computers. You can configure settings for PureCloud for Chrome for all users during or after installation. For more information, see Manage Chrome devices in the Google documentation.

User-based policies

Device-based policies

For the extension URL, use onbcflemjnkemjpjcpkkpcnephnpjkcb;http://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx.

  • PureCloud for Firefox requires the latest version of Firefox.

Individuals can install the PureCloud for Firefox extension on their computers (individual installation), or administrators can use policies in Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) 60 to install the extension on all individual computers remotely (administrator installation).

Individual installation

  1. Go to PureCloud for Firefox in Firefox Add-ons.
  2. Follow the instructions about installing the extension.

PureCloud for Firefox now appears in your browser toolbar.

Administrator installation

You can perform a group installation of PureCloud for Firefox by using an enterprise policy in Firefox ESR 60. Specify policies by creating a policies.json file (Linux and Mac OS) or with Group Policy templates (Windows).

The extension updates automatically. No manual intervention is necessary.

Individuals cannot delete, disable, or configure PureCloud for Firefox under the Firefox extension on the Firefox add-on page.

Windows

Update the following settings:

  • Extensions to Install: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/1003856/purecloud_for_firefox-1.0.0-an+fx.xpi.
  • Prevent extensions from being disabled or removed: purecloudForFirefox@mypurecloud.com.

    If you want individuals to be able to disable or remove the extension, leave this setting blank.

Mac OS/Linux

Update the following settings:

  • Install: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/1003856/purecloud_for_firefox-1.0.0-an+fx.xpi.
  • Locked: purecloudForFirefox@mypurecloud.com.

    If you want individuals to be able to disable or remove the extension, leave this setting blank.

Next, you can change the region of your organization, configure the extension, or log in to the client.
