Genesys Cloud
Deprecation: BYOC Cloud SIP TLS ciphers

Announced on Effective date Aha! idea
2025-03-24 TBD -

Description

Genesys Cloud is working to ensure the security and integrity of our services and to comply with the latest industry standards. As a part of this process, Genesys is planning on removing support for the following legacy BYOC Cloud SIP TLS ciphers:

  • TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA256
  • TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384

What does this mean?

After the effective date, which is yet to be determined, these BYOC Cloud SIP TLS ciphers will no longer be supported.

When will this change happen?

Genesys Cloud will announce an exact timeline for this deprecation when it’s available.

Am I affected?

You are affected if you use either of these BYOC Cloud SIP TLS ciphers.

What do I need to do to prepare for this deprecation?

  • Review Your Configurations. You must review your current BYOC Cloud SIP TLS configurations and ensure that they do not rely exclusively on the soon to be deprecated ciphers.
  • Update Your Systems. If your systems are only using the soon to be deprecated ciphers, you must replace them with at least one of the supported ciphers listed in the BYOC Cloud section of the TLS trunk transport protocol specification article.
  • Remove the soon to be deprecated ciphers.
