With BYOC Premises, you can configure SIP trunks between your premises-based Edge appliances and a third-party carrier using one of two methods. You can use a premises-based carrier device, such as a Session Border Controller (SBC) or a SIP gateway, or you can use a cloud-based carrier device. Both of these options are illustrated in the following diagrams.

A premises-based carrier device

A SIP trunk can be configured to connect your on-premises Edge to an on premises carrier device.

A cloud-based carrier device

A SIP trunk can be configured to connect your on-premises Edge to a carrier device in the cloud.
