Basics of AppFoundry

AppFoundry was developed using Genesys Cloud’s industry-leading architecture and innovation. Built on Genesys Cloud, AppFoundry offers several advantages, including automated free trials, purchases, and, in the future, auto-deployment of templates (data actions, bots, and IVR call flows). As part of the Genesys Cloud platform, AppFoundry fully leverages multiple capabilities of Genesys Cloud, particularly subscription information. In this section, let us discuss the features of AppFoundry when signed in vs. not logged in.

Public content

AppFoundry lists multiple types of applications, integrations, and connectors. To showcase our marketplace offerings, most features, including name, description, use cases, and generic product details, are made publicly available without signing in to AppFoundry. You can access a few features, including pricing, free trial, and purchase, only after signing in using a Genesys Cloud organization with an active subscription.

When you are not logged in to AppFoundry, you cannot view the following:

  • Pricing
    • Subscription currency type: As AppFoundry is a global site with Genesys Cloud customers operating from all over the world, when you are not logged in, the currency type of your subscription is unknown.
    • Subscription type: AppFoundry shows contextually specific pricing. For example, AppFoundry displays named pricing for named subscription customers and concurrent pricing for concurrent subscription customers. When you are not logged in, the type of your subscription is unknown.
    • Indirect customers: Resellers determine the type of AppFoundry offerings that they sell vs. not sell. If the reseller is not logged in as a reseller, pricing for an item that the reseller does not offer is not shown. If the reseller is signed in, AppFoundry does a cross-reference to the reseller’s profile to determine whether to show pricing to the reseller’s customer.
  • Purchase / Free Trial Button
    • Permission: Genesys Cloud requires a signed-in user and a properly permitted user to complete a purchase.
    • Availability: Since AppFoundry indicates the ISV Applications enabled for purchase or free trial, the availability per customer is determined only after signing in.
    • Reseller’s indirect customers: Resellers offer only selected ISV applications. If the reseller of the indirect customer has not enabled the ISV application on their profile, the application is not available to any of the reseller’s customers.
    • Amend subscription: Only organizations with subscriptions can have their subscriptions amended by AppFoundry. There is nothing to amend if the Genesys Cloud organization, for example, an internal demo organization, does not have a subscription. It is typical for many SC Genesys Cloud and sales organizations. For more information about your organization’s subscription, see Sales Operations.

Signed in content

Only authenticated users can view pricing, start a free trial, or complete a purchase in AppFoundry. User authentication occurs against the user’s Genesys Cloud organization. When signing in to AppFoundry, you can view the following information about the customer and their subscription:

  • Direct customer vs. indirect customer.
  • Currency type of the subscription.
  • User permissions of the signed-in user and the ability to run a free trial or purchase.
  • Previous free trial executions of any app on AppFoundry.

Only after signing in to AppFoundry, the specific availability and pricing of the ISV applications for the signed-in user are determined.

When you are logged in to AppFoundry, you can view the following:

  • Pricing
    • Subscription currency type: Specific currency of the customer subscription. For example, if the customer buys in GBP, the pricing is shown in GBP.
    • Subscription type: Specific pricing model. For example, if the customer has purchased named users, named pricing is shown.
    • Indirect customers: Pricing is shown depending on the customer’s reseller profile.
  • Free Trial Button
    • Permission: If you are authorized and properly permitted within the organization, AppFoundry offers a free trial option. If you are unauthorized, AppFoundry does not offer a free trial option.
Note: If you have already had a free trial of that ISV application, you can only purchase the ISV application on AppFoundry.
    • Reseller’s indirect customers: If the ISV application is not enabled or missing from the reseller’s profile, the free trial button is not available to that indirect customer.
    • Genesys Only – Upon Signing In: If your Genesys Cloud organization has an active subscription, you can view the free trial button upon sign in.
