How do I use *67 to request privacy?

To use *67 to request privacy, both the Apply Header Privacy and the Apply User Privacy settings have to be enabled.

Apply Header Privacy

When enabled, this setting prevents Genesys Cloud from sending the actual header information (typically the contact address) along with the call. Instead, Genesys Cloud replaces the actual header information with the word Anonymous.

Apply User Privacy

When enabled, this setting prevents Genesys Cloud from sending ANI information with the call. Instead, Genesys Cloud replaces the actual ANI with sip:anonymous@anonymous.invalid.

Note: BYOC carriers must support the use of the URI sip:anonymous@anonymous.invalid or anonymous calling will fail or be overwritten with a default trunk phone number.

When using *67:

  • Do not use a plus (+) in front of a country code.
  • You can use a zero (0) in front of a city code for national calls. For example, *67014xxx
  • You can use a double zero (00) in front of a country code for international calls. For example, *670044xxx
