Note: This article only applies to users of the PureCloud for Chrome app and extension. For information about the new extension, see About the Genesys Cloud browser extensions.

The new Genesys Cloud for Chrome extension replaces the older PureCloud for Chrome app and extension, consolidating installation and configuration into a single browser extension. The older PureCloud for Chrome uses Chrome apps, a technology that Google is deprecating. For more information about the deprecation of Chrome apps, see the announcement on Google’s Chromium Blog.

This new extension maintains the same functionality as the older PureCloud for Chrome version, except for always-on-top functionality, which Google does not support in extensions.  When you install the new extension, the new extension migrates your current configuration settings from the older PureCloud for Chrome app and extension.

Tip: For the automatic migration of configuration settings to work, be sure to install the new extension before uninstalling the older app and extension.

  1. Install the new Genesys Cloud for Chrome extension.

For more information, see Install the extensions.

  2. Uninstall the older PureCloud for Chrome app (PureCloud for Chrome App) and extension (PureCloud for Chrome Add-on).

For more information about the new Genesys Cloud for Chrome extension, see About the Genesys Cloud browser extensions.
