Configure the Yealink phone

Genesys Cloud supports Yealink phone models. However, it is important to keep in mind that Yealink phone models are NOT compatible with Genesys Cloud Voice.

The following procedures explain how to set up the phone and how to set up Genesys Cloud to host the phone.

Connect the phone to your network and power

Refer to Yealink Documentation for your model of Yealink.

Acquire the IP address of the phone

Click Menu > Status on the Yealink phone.

Log into the phone with the web browser

  • http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (Example:
  • The user manual for the specific Yealink phone model contains the default user name and password. (For many Yealink phone models, the default for both the username and password is admin.)

Modify the Account – Register Settings

  •  Click the Account tab at the top of the menu and the Register section on the left side of the page.
    • Line Active = Enabled
    • Label = Name that appears on the phone
    • Display Name = Same as the Label
    • Register Name = Name used to register
    • User Name = Name used to register
    • Password = Leave blank. This value is not used.
    • SIP Server 1 = IP of your primary Edge
      • Change the Port from 5060 to 8060
    • SIP Server 2 = IP of your secondary Edge
      • Change the Port from 5060 to 8060
    • Click Confirm.

Modify the Codec – Account > Codec

  •  Click the Account tab at the top of the page and Codec Section on the left side of the page.
    • On the Right side, select PCMU and use the up arrow.
  • Click Confirm.

Configure the Yealink base settings

  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under Telephony, click Phone Management.
  3. Click the Base Settings Tab.
  4. Click the Create New button.
  5. In the Base Settings Name field, enter a name such as Yealink Settings.
  6. From the Phone Make and Model list, select Generic SIP Phone.
  7. Click the Save Base Settings button.

Create the Yealink phone

  1. Click the Phones tab.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Enter a phone name.
  4. From the Base Settings list, select the Base Settings entry you created for the Yealink phone.
  5. From the Site list, select the Site for the phone.
    Note: If you have not created a site, see About Sites.
  6. Click Save Phone.

Configure Line Keys for the Yealink phone

  1. Click the Line Keys tab.
  2. Enter a Line Appearance Id.
  3. Click Save Phone.
  4. Enable the phone for use by rebooting the Yealink.
