Microsoft has ended support Windows 8/8.1 and soon Windows Server 2012/2012 R2. On October 10, 2023, Genesys will no longer support using the Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 operating systems with the desktop app.

What does this mean?

Between the announcement date and the removal of support, Genesys will continue to update the desktop app to resolve any major breakage until the support end date. After the support end date, Genesys Cloud will no longer provide updates to desktop app for Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012/2012 R2.

This deprecation affects you if you or anyone in your organization uses the desktop app with Windows 8/8.1 or Windows Server 2012/2012 R2.

How can I prepare for this deprecation?

If you use Windows 8/8.1 or Windows Server 2012/2012 R2, upgrade your Windows operating system to a version that Genesys supports.
