Configure a periodic beep tone for line recording

Prerequisites

  • Telephony > Plugin > All permission

When you enable line recording, you can configure an audible beep tone to play in the background of a voice call while the system records the call. A beep tone allows participants to know that a conversation is being recorded, which may be required for regulatory compliance.

Note: Before you configure a beep tone, make sure that you enable Line Recording.

You can enable or disable beep tones, configure the length of beeps, the interval between beeps, and how the beeps sound.

  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under Telephony, click Trunks.
  3. Click the External Trunks tab.
  4. From the list, select the trunk you want to configure.
  5. Under External Trunk Configuration, click Media.
  6. Under Recording/Beep Tone configure the following:
    • Select a beep tone mode: Single Tone or Dual Tone.
    • To specify how long the beep tone plays, enter the Duration value.
    • To specify a time in milliseconds between beeps, enter an Interval value.
Note: If you select Dual Tone, you specify the frequency and amplitude for each tone.
    • To specify the rate at which the beep tone occurs, enter a Frequency value.
    • To specify the beep tone volume, enter an Amplitude value.
  7. Click Save External Trunk.
