Topic Miner improvements: greater control and cleaner results

In a future release, Genesys Cloud will introduce new features in the topic miner that allow users to ignore unwanted topics and phrases, making mining results more relevant and easier to manage. These changes help reduce repetition and streamline mining workflows.

What’s new?

  • Ignore existing topics and phrases: Users can exclude topics or phrases already configured in speech and text analytics from appearing in new mining results.
  • Custom ignore phrase lists: Analysts can create and manage personalized lists of phrases to exclude during topic mining.
  • Ignore complete topic themes: Entire suggested topics and their related phrases can be added to an ignore list with a single click.
  • Access control: New permissions let organizations manage who can view or update the ignore lists.
  • User interface enhancements: Clearer help text, mining indicators, and hidden ignored content simplify the mining experience.
  • List limits: To ensure performance, ignore lists support up to 1,500 phrases per dialect.

    Why this matters?

    These updates make it easier for analysts and supervisors to focus on finding new, meaningful insights without distraction by irrelevant or repetitive topics. By removing interference from the mining process, teams spend less time filtering results and more time analyzing what matters.

    What to expect

    Upon release, users will see the new options and updated interface in Topic Miner. Administrators should review permissions for managing ignore lists. No other action is required now.
